All Power to the People: Block Printing Collage Workshop

Led by Joanna Booth

This workshop is inspired by the legacy of Emory Douglas and Elizabeth Catlett, two Black political printmakers. Both Douglas and Catlett were known for their amplification and documentation of the Black experience during the Civil Rights Era and the Black Power Movement. In this workshop participants are invited to make their own newspaper headlines using block printing and collaging techniques. Together we will ruminate on the messages we’d like to bring to our communities today.
